2 Months old

Nellie is 2 months old already. She is still pretty little. She had her check up and she is 10 lbs 14.5 ounces. She is 22 inches long and her head is 40 cm. She is close to the 50th% which surprised me because she still seems so little. She is still pretty cranky most of the time. She is getting better. It seems that her body is handling digestion a bit better and it doesn't seem to be as painful for her. She is eating well and is starting to smile more. She has just discovered her tongue. She sticks it out a lot and sucks on her hands.

She is smiley until I break out the camera then it is all bets off!
I think she will look tiny compared to this moose until she is about 15 or so.

I was able to finally capture one smile!
Her rash has mostly gone away. It goes in stages. It will be almost all cleared up then break out again. Today it looks pretty good!

She pulls her hands to her face when she smiles so it is tough to get a picture of her. But you can still see she is smiling!

Helena really wanted her turn for a picture with the giant moose. Helena loves this moose. She sits on his lap and talks to him. It is very cute! Helena is growing up too fast! Since Nellie was born Helena has become a little girl, no longer my baby!

trying again

Nellie's blessing day was on the 12th of February, but we didn't get any good blessing pictures. I am not a photographer, but I really want some pretty blessing pictures of her in her dress. I tried to take some, but between her crazy rash and her being a bit grumpy, we still didn't end up with anything great. I tried!

She is starting to smile.. a bit!

I am going to try one more time, this time at a professional place to see if we can get some decent pictures in her beautiful dress!

Nellie 1 month old

Nellie is one month old. She is either crying, eating, or asleep. We chose to go with the asleep pictures for her one month pictures.

She is a sweet baby. Poor little thing just doesn't feel very well.

She has cute little cheeks. She is 9 lbs. Still so little!

Here she is with her moose. This is the moose that Papa got her so we can measure her next to her moose each month until she turns a year old. I think she will look pretty tiny for a while! She was sleeping, not in my arms, which is a hard thing to pull off, so I put the moose by her in order to not wake her up.

Blessing Day

Nellie's blessing day was wonderful, however I had an epic fail day at taking pictures. I had my camera with me the whole day but didn't take any pictures. The pictures I do have Stephanie took. Nellie did pretty well most of the day. Lots of family came to her blessing and the day was really wonderful. We had the luncheon at Papa's house after her blessing where many more people came to see our beautiful baby girl.

We tried to take a family picture. This was the best of the bunch which is saying a lot. James was tired, Sophia had already melted down and Helena was on her way to it. Daniel and Sterling did a fabulous job at looking at the camera though!

When it came time for Nellie's pictures she was equally as cooperative!

We got a few pictures of my pretty baby, but none that captured her beautiful dress that Papa bought for her with a happy face.

So, this will be the picture of the day, with the baby asleep and mom and dad as proud as can be! We love you baby Nellie. We are so grateful that you were able to come to our family. We are grateful you are healthy and growing well.
You were named after your great-grandmother Peternella Maria Kruys DeVroom. She was an amazing women who had only kindness in her heart. She was an amazing teacher, friend, mother and grandmother. I hope that you can follow after her. We love you!

First Bath

Nellie had her first bath at home.

I like this picture because it shows how small she is compared to my hand and arm.

She was pretty content in the warm water.

She wont fit in this little sink for much longer!
